Do British attitudes have any influence on their newspaper reading habits?

I'm learning British culture. I don't know whether their attitudes and education affect their reading habits say on broadsheets or tabloids.

  1. i havent read a paper since chips came wrapped in them
  2. I think tabloids influence british attitudes
  3. Newspapers are propaganda. If you style yourself on what you read in them, then you will never be British. Us Brits are very cynical about the press. If it is in the Sun daily newspaper it is very unlikely to be true... Other newspapers have political bias All of them are full of Crap!
  4. nah thats b@ll@cks, i read the times & telegraph
  5. I never read the news paper half of it is a load of crap about celebrities and conspiracy's that nobody cares about other than the media itself.99% of brits can read and write.
  6. Why pick on the British? In all countries where there is freedom, or halfway freedom of the press, people will choose a newspaper which reflects their own opinions. I used to take coffee with a Caribbean colleague before we went to work, in a coffee shop which had an international selection of news papers available. Their English language selection was limited to the Daily Telegraph and the Herald Tribune. I took the Daily Telegraph, simply because I'm English and she took the Herald Tribune. One morning, she said, 'How can you read such a racist paper and sit at the same table with me?' My answer was, 'And how can you read all that USA propaganda?' We were very good friends. We still are.
