I have been watching, reading physical fitness programs of genuine instructors. why tall claims about yoga?
Especially Ram Dev's claims and instructions, people are over enthusiastic and doing whichever way they like. Any one with an average knowledge of health will understand the mistakes. There should be specific precaution for every asanas to be taken based on health and age factors. Some asanas are totally prohibited for those above 40. Even exercises should be started as advised by your physician and a physical fitness trainer. How government is allowing all quakes to preach and practice yoga ?

- Good question. First of, I do not think that there are federal regulations concerning fitness programs. A lot of different exercises that are shown in reality will not suit those who are older and/or have joint or other trouble. (say, the Tae-Bo gets pretty high impact - if you have knee trouble, it's really bad for you). Second, many people have this idealistic vision of Eastern things as somehow purer, more grounded, better for you - by definition - without understanding all that should go into it. Third, any yoga instructor - at least, real licensed one at the gym - will make sure that you're safe. Hence here's the advice to everybody - do whatever you like, but make sure you get advice from a real professional licenced by the State or medical Association. Don't just grab a tape and start going!
- PLEASE CONTACT RAMDOSS FOR BANNING RAMDEV. HE WOULD BAN IMMEDIATELY.
- frankly speaking i myself fail to understand how certain breathing exercises or body postures could be of any health benefit.people are just feeling PLACEBO effect due to psychic suggestion . i am not aware of any scientific study of physiologic and therapeutic effects of yoga and its benefits if any.
- There is nothing wrong with a quack if he can help you loose weight, get rid of diseases like hypertension, diabetes etc. Yoga is as scientific as you can think of..You have to start practicing to know the difference, provided you get a proper guru..Yoga can be practiced by people of all ages.. Just follow the pranayama exercises given below and find the difference in one week.. http://www.yoga-for-beginners-a-practical-guide.com/rhythmic-breathing.html http://www.yoga-for-beginners-a-practical-guide.com/yoga-nidra.html hope it helps.
