  1. Look for Douglas Adams' -Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy Series -Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency
  2. Depends on you tastes. Though I would recommend R.A. Salvatore(as an author). I enjoy the fantasy genre it helps me disconnect from "life" which I think is needed from time to time.
  3. The best thing you can do is to go to a libery and see around trying to find books that are about things you like. There is many great books but if you dont tell what kind of books you like I cant give you any advice on what books to read. Johan
  4. if u want to study any fiction novels then def try reading books of Sidney Sheldon or Dan Brown.. thy are too good in their ways.. but as a starter i recommend to get some short stories n get to know ur interests on subjects like.. strategy, fantasy, love r so.. then get on to Big stuffs of those.. u ill def enjoy reading :)
  5. start browsing the library and or book stores and take some time to leaf through some books Only you can decide what types of books you will enjoy and then even after youve forced yourself to sit down and do it Also do not dismiss the value of reading newspapers/magazines/web news. Also you may enjoy information books, ike a book on cooking or home renovating ,mechanics, travel guide etc, if you dont like novels. Reading is valuable no matter whether it is a classic or a sports report. There is a new techie toy called Kindle that is an electronic reader, you then can download books at a reasonable price I understand, Its supposed to be cool though -I am not pushing this or selling anything-just an idea for you to look into if you have trouble getting into books and you are in your 20's an electronic gadget could make it mor efun. Read book reviews in the Sunday paper. Join a book circle at local library.good luck
  6. Dan Brown has good books. Of course the Davinci Code and Angels and Demons, but my favorite of his is Deception Point. Dean Koontz is good suspence and slight horror without being to gory. Not to mention the Harry Potter books and Phillip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, and The Amber Spyglass.
  7. Harry Potter books are the best... also the His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman... and every guy loves Ian Fleming's books (he does Bond)... You could try Jane Austenas well and the Bronte sisters...
  8. Depends what you like. Your in your twenties me to so i would try Tamora Pierce. There young audlt fiction easy to read and interesting. I just finished hers circle of magic series i really enjoyed it.
  9. As many people said it all depends on your taste. I would suggest starting off with trilogies or short series so you aren't stuck trying to catch up to some story that has history based in 20+ books that you might never read or even hear about. Find out which genre you like the most and start reading anything and everything that comes your way. Often times in books there are reviews from other authors, and that would be a good way to find other authors that like what you like. Something I would seriously suggest would be to sit in a book store and read a chapter or two of a random book off the shelf. They honestly don't mind if you sit there and read because it leads to you being interested in a book and eventually buying it. Don't feel like you _need_ to read a certain book simply because someone else said to, or because you liked the movie version. Often times when a book converts to movie a ton of things are changed to make it only two hours long or so, and even if it doesn't affect the amount of time on the screen they will move portions about simply for better flow.
  10. bella mafia... a good book for everyone..
  11. It depends on what you like to read. For me I enjoy many different kinds of books. I read Clive Cussler if I'm in the mood for adventure or Anne Rice. She writes good books on vampires and witches, etc. Both these authors have their books part of a series. For mystery I usually read Harlan Coben. I've also read books by Michael Crichton and John Grisham.
  12. Check out paperbackswap.com it's cool and free. please tell them bluestar referred you. Hope this helps! :)
