- Yes. Maybe 2 a week. Helps you with vocab and writing styles
- I love to read, I usually read a book a week, used to be more but job and internet get in the way. I read Harry Potter in 2 days. I've tried writing but I don't think I'm very good at it. i get too sidetracked.
- I unfortunately do not read as much as I used to; typically only 2 - 3 books a month these days, but I love reading. I strongly believe reading greatly enhances your writing skills. When you read a good book, not only is the story good, but it is written well. The story flows because the words flow. It is a simple connection. I find the general public typically puts to many 'filler' words in their writing. 'That' is really overused. Plus reading makes you think, thinking works your brain, the more your brain works the better.
- everyone loves (or should love) reading!! :D i read about 4/5 books a week depending on how good they are. I think it helps undestand HOW to write a book and increases your knowledge in general about books ;) xx
- I can read up to 4 books in a week, depending on how good the books are. I've always been a bookworm since I was 4 years old and I have good English skills. I believe when a kid learns to read and read books as an activity at an early age, they learn to spell and write well.. I had compared this to my little brother once. I have never seen him open a book to read, and when he was in the 3rd grade, he had my dad spell every word for him ( brother) with his homework every day, and he did not know how to spell my name!! He was a t.v.-ohoilic
- I read a book a day, sometimes two. It depends on how much work I have... In a perfect world, I would read and read and read.... I think the most I ever read in a week was 15 books, but I was on vacation. Reading helps your writing skills because certain grammatical and punctuation items become second nature. I can't tell you how many people out there don't know how to write dialogue!!! It's insane! If you've ever read a book in your life, you have seen it several times at least. It's not hard. Also, it helps with spelling because you've seen more words. Vocabulary improves if you are a dork like I am and look up every word you don't understand. Reading out loud helps a great deal with public speaking and improves the speed that you read at. I can read a 300 page novel in two hours.... you can quiz me on anything I just read and I'll score a 100%. Keep reading! It's good for you!
- I am a TOTAL book nerd. I'm not like smart or geeky, but I always have a book in my hand. I can read about 17 books a week. I have too much free time on my hands. It helps me with my vocabulary and it helps when we write stories in class, I am able to get the format right.
- I love to read. How many a week depends on my free time. I don't have much free time since I work 45 hrs a week, have pets, live with boyfriend, so I don't get to read as much as I'd like. I can still usually read a book in a week or two. Depends on how interesting it is. Reading will help with writing skills! I just finished Zodiac it was awesome. Angels and Demons is one of my faves and I love anything by Richard Laymon, scary!!!
- I'm lucky if I can read one book a month because I'm very busy, but I read more in the summer when I have more free time. It helps very very much in your writting skills because it gives you inspiration and you also copy some sentence or chapter structures for example. You can learn a lot about writting by analysing books written by better writers than yourself.
- I LOOOVE TO READ!! but im not really smart at all im lazy so...yeah but depending on if i find books i like i could read up to five a week...i know i have read twilight new moon and eclipse over and over again like 2 times each thanksgiving break
- I love reading so much I took a year off from teaching great literature in order to create a web site for book clubs who want to read great literature: www.bookclubclassics.com. It is also a blog and I would love to have your commenters check it out and respond to my posts!
- Depends on how many books im reading at the time, usually I have 2 books on the go. One in the living room and one in the bathroom . I read the last Harry Potter book in 14 hours - started it when i got home after buying it and literally didnt put it down till i had read it. I do that with a lot of books, read them none stop to the end then usually a week or so later i re-read it to pick up on the parts that didnt sink in the first time. I find reading improves my vocabulary and my spelling. If i dont know what a word means then i have a dictionary to hand to look it up. Plus when i read, if the character has an accent, i hear the accent in my head as im reading. I get so engrossed in the book, you could sit next to me and talk but i would not hear you. Its like watching a film in my head. Hmm that sounds a bit weird...oh well i was never normal anyway lol. I dont attempt to write stories as unfortunately i lack the imagination to think up any.
