Favorite Thing About Reading/Books?
I just started reading bout 2 or 3 months ago. I've been through about 8 books so far. I always thought that reading would be a choir. I would look at the hundred some what pages and just die! I guess school didn't help either. The stuff they have had reading. But anyway, now I love it! and I'm shocked. I am a reader. . . it feels weird to say. I read mostly horror/sci-fi stuff. So what is it about reading and books you like?

- inspirational and romance novels
- you can always escape boredom if you find the right book. For some reason it works better than tv although I cant explain why.
- At first, beginning in about 5th grade, i never really cared for reading. but then i started reading books and now i just read tons and tons and i read as fast as i can. reading is actually pretty fun if it is a book that you enjoy!! this past year i think i read about 40 books or so. Thanks for letting me pass this on to you!
- Reading takes you to places that TV/Movies can't because it gives you the opportunity to imagine what the characters and places look like. You get to know about hundreds of years of thought and creativity, history and philosophy.
- There are a multitude of books and stories and I like to read about other places and people who live in a different way from me. I can learn a lot from any book as long as I read carefully and try to contrast what I know to what I am learning. What things are different, also. My favorites are usually novels or history books, but I will try to read everything I get a chance to read because I will nearly always learn something. The most important for me to learn is how other people live, think, work, and care for their families. As long as I understand the language and the meaning of most of the words, I will enjoy what I read and what I learn. I like a lot of action in books as well as it keeps it more interesting.
- You can get the same thrill out of reading just like you do from watching movies. You can escape. You get drawn in to the books characters, events and suspense. I love real romance novels like 17th and 18th century. I also love horror and fictional novels. I even enjoy short stories. But my favorite is fictional mysteries. Right now I read a lot of fright time short stories. I love Jane Austin novels. My favorite is Pride and Prejudice.I am not into detail, exotic sex novels. NO! I love romance, true romance. Holding of the hands, secret glances, dancing, rain, writing notes, private walks and sweet kisses. That is romantic to me! I can imagine being the characters. I feel what they feel. Every book you read is a private get away. It fuels your imagination. And every book is different to every person. It is all about the way you interpret it. I love to read!
- I tend to read a lot of historical fiction, fiction, and literature based novels. I just like the fact that I can get away if I'm having a bad day, or that I can imagine what it would be like to live in 14th century China or 18th century England. It gets really great when you get into a series, like The Vampire Chronicles, and feel like you know the characters and that you've been to the destinations in the book. It's a great escape and it exercises the mind/imagination. It is also a great way to pick up some trivia and increase your knowledge (depending if the book is a biography or something like that). Some books I recommend: Vamp Chronicles by Anne Rice Dalridia Triology by Julie Watson Every Inch of Her by Peter Sheridan The Mayfair Witches by Anne Rice The Metamorphasis by Kafka...and so, so, so many more!
- Seeing through other people's eyes. That's always fun :]
