  1. I have the same problem. I have the same problem.
  2. just concentrate..don't have any distractions around. make sure it's quiet...like i can't grasp anything i read unless i'm in a room with nothing and with no sound lol
  3. Do you spend any time doing recreational reading or is it all work or school? Your level of interest may have an indirect impact on your reading ability in addition to other previously mentioned factors.
  4. I have the same problem. I known how you feel.
  5. It's all a question of concentration and interest. If you are really interested in what you are reading then I am sure that your mind won't wander. So develop an interest in whatever you are reading, even if you are forced to read something, and see the difference.
  6. try to consintrate
  7. try reading only a paragraph at a time with a pencil between your teeth and point to each word with your finger or use a ruler for each line. your speed of reading and understanding will improve this is not a joke i dont know why it works but it does good luck
  8. The best way to improve your reading skills is to read. There are both physical (eye movement, tactile) and mental abilities involved in reading. Some people are able to improve their eye movement control by reading much simpler texts quickly. A second issue in understanding and memory may be the tendency to skip past or merely sound out words if you are unsure of the meaning. In that case, the 2nd time through is an attempt to decode the meaning of the unknown words from context. It may be better to identify words you don't know and then lookup or ask their meaning.
  9. Try placing a paper under the line you are reading, and slide it down to reveal each line as you read. For some people, visual distraction makes focusing difficult. Also...are you truly getting enough sleep? I worked my way through college, and I took an exact same class over when I was not working, after dropping it when I was. It was AMAZING how much smarter the teacher became and what a better job they did on the textbook that semester.
