Reading train - Improve your reading skills

Anyone know any good reading programs for a 7 year old?

I have a 7 year old step daughter who is currently failing in reading. She is in the second grade. Does anyone know of any good successful reading programs designed to help her?

2. raz-kids.com - get the free 30 day trial. The books are leveled from preschool reader to 5th grade. The child reads the book online, clicking on words they don't know to be read aloud, then, they answer comprehension questions. My son loves to read the stories over and over. The other suggestion I have is to have her draw a simple picture and write a sentence below. Work through a notebook from front to back. After a couple weeks, she encourage her to write longer sentences by adding "and" or "because", etc. She can read the notebook and improve her reading at the same time. You'll see an improvement. You may need to offer rewards for doing extra homework :)
