- A.D.D
- impatience how do you know its unimportant if you havent read those parts?
- Laziness.
- Yep - lack of interest or low attention span xx
- not really its called scan reading, its human nature to filter out what we consider is unimportant. the problem is that it might not be uninportant and so we risk missing things
- If anyone's ever read "How to read a book", you'll learn that this skill (yes, it's a skill!) isn't held by everyone. It's actually the best way to learn how to read. You get more bang for your buck so to speak, you can get more important information in a smaller time than people who need to read every single word. You have a wonderful skill, my darling. You'll never have to read "How to read a book"!
- no your just lazy.
- I do the same. but not with reading I do it with listening. I call it, being married !
- I was going to make a joke, but I will refrain.I am wondering how you know they are un-important if you skipped them.Sometimes when reading (I prefer fiction) I have to go back a few pages and re-read it because I skipped something I deemed un-important,yet it was important.Since i do not know what type of books you read,I can not say if it really matters if you skip things or not.I would suggest reading for fun, relax and take your time and soak up the words the writer has used.Good luck.
- You may be reading some bad books. I do that when I know (and you can foresee these things a little when reading) a long, repetitive passage is coming up. It's a sign of bad writing maybe or an unnecessary section.
