- Don't try to stop him, there is nothing wrong about reading books all the time, it makes you smarter. If you really want him to cut back on his reading, find other things for him to do that interest him. Ask him what else he enjoys doing.
- You could respect the choices he's made in how to spend his own time. But I can't really see that happening.
- Put him on to a good legal way to make money. He'll sink his teeth into it so hard that he won't have time to read. He won't have time for you, either, but then people who get ahead rarely associate with folks who don't read.
- I think that it's great that your friend is an avid reader and I think that you should support him in his intersts. By reading daily he will become smarter and learn a lot of new things. Though if he's got his head in a book 24/7 then he needs to learn about the world and do something other than reading. I'd say try to introduce him to some new passion that the two of you can do together whether that be painting or fishing or something that is a nice social event that's not reading .
- i think u should call the police. reading is a serious problem in our nation these days. TOO MANY PEOPLE READ FOR NO REASON. tell him to get a life or call the police
- why stop him whats wrong with reading
- Why would you want him to stop reading? I love to read, if my best friend tried to get me to stop reading I would have to think there was something really wrong with her! Don't try and change him.
- Take away his damn library card, or poke him in the eyes that oughta work for a few days.
- i think you should give him a book entitled "THE PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE" by rick warren ;-) hehe
- Well you should just tell them stop reading!
- take him out at the town or something. but remember you can't force someone to do something.
- Why would you want to? He has a good habit that others would do well to form. Instead of trying to pull him down, why not join him as a reader?
- I don't understand the question. Why stop some one from reading for either enjoyment or for knowledge. If you don't like to read, that is one thing, you can stay the way you want to be forever, but for those of us who wish to learn new and interesting things or just read for enjoyment, one can never read and assimilate all the books that are out there in one lifetime, but we can make a dent in how many we read. So, what in essence, is what you are saying is you don't read how can we give you an idea to keep your friend from reading so that he will be more like you, right?
- If he doesn't already have one, find him a girlfriend.
- Let the boy read. Get him a book & make his day.
- Why would you try to stop him from doing something he obviously enjoys that will not harm him or anyone else.??? That just doesn't make any sense. Is there some jelousy going on here? If so, its sadly misplaced.
